Tourist Attraction in Rio de Janeiro: Cristo Redentor
Christ the Redeemer is an art deco statue that depicts Jesus Christ, located at the top of the Corcovado hill, 709 metres above sea level, in the Tijuca National Park, with a view to the largest part of the city of Rio de Janeiro. In 2007 was elected informally as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. In 2012 the UNESCO considered the Christ Redeemer as part of the landscape of Rio de Janeiro included in the list of Humanity Heritage. The Monument was designed by the Brazilian Engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and built in collaboration with the french sculptor Paul Landowski and with the French Engineer Albert Caquot, between 1922 and 1931. was inaugurated on 12 October 1931, day of our lady of Aparecida and stay in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa.
