Tourist Attraction in Aracaju: Museu da Gente Sergipana
The Museu da Gente Sergipana is a museum located in the city of Aracaju, Sergipe, inaugurated on November 26, 2011. It houses a multimedia space of last generation, comparable to the Portuguese Language Museum and the Football Museum in São Paulo. The building that now houses the museum was built in 1926 and was known in the Sergipe capital as Atheuzinho. It was restored by the Bank of the State of Sergipe (Banese), in partnership with the State Government. The museum was awarded the "Best of Architecture Award" in 2012, organized by Architecture & Construction magazine and was chosen as the attraction of the year by Guia Quatro Rodas in 2013. The artistic conception of the museum was made by Marcello Dantas, known for his work at the Museu da Portuguese Language in São Paulo. The Museum presents itself as the "first interactive multimedia museum of the North and Northeast." At the entrance there is an interactive map of the State of Sergipe, divided into sub regions (central agreste, high and middle sertao and down São Francisco) where you can hear the accents of the inhabitants of each region.
