Tourist Attraction in Nice: Cathédrale Orthodoxe Russe St Nicolas
The Russian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas is a place of orthodox worship in Nice. The church was built in 1912 thanks to the advent of Tsar Nicola II of Russia who commissioned the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral outside Russia to meet the great influx of noble Russians who went to Nice in the nineteenth century to avoid the rigor of Russian winter. The church's project relocates to St. Basil's cathedral on Red Square in Moscow, despite the fact that the church of Nicosia does not show the lively colors of the Moscow church on the domes.
