Tourist Attraction in Nice: Musée National Marc Chagall
The Marc Chagall National Museum's National Message (Marc Chagall) is located in the Cimiez district of Nice. The Museum, inaugurated in 1973, is built while Chagall is still alive thanks to the support of André Malraux culture minister. It is one of the most important collections of the works of this artist. It brings together Marc Chagall's works on the Bible: seventeen paintings dedicated to the Genesis, the Exodus and the Song of Songs and the sketches related to the same paintings. Marc Chagall and his second wife, Valentina, donated the paintings in 1966 to the French State and the sketches in 1972. The museum also houses sculptures, mosaics, a tapestry and three stained glass windows.
