Inaugurated in 1975, Mondadori's headquarters in Segrate is one of the most important achievements of the architect Oscar Niemeyer. Between the idroscalo base and the district of San Felice, on the border of the territories of Milan and Segrate, is the headquarters of the Mondadori Spa. The project was conceived in 1968 by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, at the invitation of the Mondadori family, develops an idea already Conceived to the Itamaraty Palace in Brasília, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main structure of this imposing complex rises in the flat landscape with a lightweight concrete arcade cage within which the dark glass offices are suspended. Around the main building, there are two other lower bodies and irregular curved edges. The entire complex emerges from the waters of an artificial lake and is surrounded by a large park designed by the landscaping architect Pietro Porcinai. In 2007, the headquarters is integrated with the intervention commissioned by Werner Tscholl for the renovation and expansion of Cascina Tregarezzo, along the Rivoltana road.
