Tourist Attraction in Rijeka: Jadrolinija Palaca Jadran
The Adria Palace (Jadrolinija Palaca Jadran) in Rijeka is a historic building overlooking the sea, formerly the headquarters of the anonymous society of maritime navigation "Adria", current Jadrolinija. The palace was built in 1897 for the Hungarian maritime shipping company "Adria" was renamed "Jadran" after the Second World War. Its monumental façade dominates the entire port of Rijeka, and the other overlooks Piazza Adria. The building, designed by the architect Francesco Mattiassi and built by Giacomo Zammattio, is equipped with numerous sculptures by Sebastiano Bonomi that recall the world of maritime work.
