Tourist Attraction in Foggia:
Palazzo dell'Acquedotto Pugliese
The Palazzo dell'Acquedotto Pugliese of Foggia, or more commonly called the Palazzo della Acquedotto, was built in 1926 by engineer Cesare Brunetti following a liberty style. It takes its name because it is the Foggiana headquarters of the Apulian Aqueduct. It has two entrances, one in via Scillitani, where there is the first palace and then one in via Isonzo, where there is the second palace. They come together forming a triangle, inside which there is a courtyard. The building, in addition to facing the streets where it is built, overlooking Viale XXIV Maggio. The building of the aqueduct consists of six floors (the lower ones belong to the offices, while those higher up belong to families) in addition to the plan ground, to the common terrace to the two palaces and to the underground floor, that however is found in the courtyard. The palace, white, is set in curtains and has numerous decorations built with cement. There are two domes, above the terrace, to characterize the palace, which rise from the intersection between via Scillitani and via XXIV Maggio, and from the intersection between via XXIV Maggio and via Isonzo. It is certainly, together with the Cathedral, the Church of the Crosses, Piazza Giordano and the Fontana del Sele, one of the symbols of Foggia. Word processing: Giovambattista Spagnuolo
