Palácio Fronteira
The Palace of the Marquesses of Fronteira or simply Palazzo Fronteira, (in Portuguese: Palácio Fronteira) is a historic residence, built starting in 1640. Near the Monsanto Forest Park. Inside, there are rooms of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The palace is surrounded by Italian gardens, which depicts the four seasons. In the gardens, there is a staircase leading to a terrace, where the busts of the Portuguese kings are located, and a pond near which the ancestors of the Marquises of Fronteira are depicted. The palace and gardens are decorated with azulejos depicting battle scenes or monkey monkeys. Among the halls, the Sala delle Battaglie stands out, decorated with scenes of the war of independence: in one of these we see the first owner of the estate, João de Mascarenhas, while he fights with a Spanish general. The oldest part of the estate is represented by a chapel dating back to the 16th century. Word processing: Giovambattista Spagnuolo (Myooni)
