Biblioteca Regionale Melchiorre Dèlfico
The regional library "Melchiorre Délfico" of Teramo, initially annexed to the Real Collegio, was enriched in 1826 with the donation of a part of the philosopher and politician Teramo's private library to which it was then named. It has a section of ancient books and manuscripts, a Quadreria, and special sections of Abruzzese, emeroteca, media library, photographic archive. Since 1987 he has published "Notizie della Delfico", a four-monthly bibliographic report. Since 1996 it has been a member of the Teramo Polo of the National Library Service and has its own online catalog. For the richness of the collections, the effective library and document organization of documents and services, the cultural and editorial initiatives undertaken, and finally for the continuous and growing appreciation by an increasingly numerous and qualified public, the Teramo Regional Library is today a of the most prestigious and important library institutions in Abruzzo and in the whole of central and southern Italy. The current site includes on the ground floor: an information point, the newspaper library, the children's room; from the ground floor there is access to the first floor also through the so-called "noble staircase", a neoclassical staircase, completed in the first half of the 1800s. First floor: Catalogs, Distribution, Reading Rooms, Sala del Fondo Muzii, Ancient Funds and Manuscripts, Sala Abruzzese. Second floor: Media library, Photo archive, Audiovisual room with 50 seats, multimedia room. Over 300,000 total volumes; over 5000 periodicals ceased, over 700 current periodicals. Abruzzese Library: with tens of thousands of books, manuscripts, periodicals, geographical maps, prints and engravings. Emeroteca: collections of periodicals from the XVIII century, over 5,000 titles. Media library: Tele Teramo archive and collection of family films. "Domenico Nardini" photo archive: which includes: Domenico Nardini Fund. "Teramo" Literary Award Archive: founded in 1959 by Giammario Sgattoni. Castellano ceramic fragments: from the XV century, the Nardini-Marcattilii collection. Picture gallery: with paintings by Astolfi, Aurini, Casciaro, Cavacchioli, Celommi, Chiarini, De Filippis Delfico, Gennaro Della Monica, De Nigris, Di Giuseppe, Montauti, Murer, Alfonso Muzii, Pagliaccetti, Rosati, Zonaro. Sculptures by D'Antino, Martella, Morganti. Collections of caricatures by Melchiorre De Filippis Delfico, Gennaro Della Monica, Fedele Romani, Maria Palma, Dante Cirillo and others.
